Vanina Dimitrova is a photojournalism student based in Columbia and St. Louis, Missouri.
Born in St. Louis, Missouri, Vanina is a first generation college student to parents from Vidin, Bulgaria. She began photographing in middle school, kickstarting her love for sports photography as she began photographing horse shows within the St. Louis area.
Vanina is graduating from the University of Missouri - Columbia in the 2024 fall semester with a Bachelors in Journalism and minors in Ancient Mediterranean Studies and Women and Gender studies.
In her photojournalism career, Vanina has become hardworking and invested photographer, focusing her work around the human aspect of her subjects. She is compassionate and a team player who would be a valuable addition to any newsroom or visual team setting.
